Lead Mobile UX Designer (Sept 2020-Present)

Driving business growth and innovation within the company. I spearheaded the development of critical projects that significantly contributed to the company's growth and success:

Native Mobile Applications: While maintaining and innovating on two existing sales-facing iPad applications which enable over $400 million in annual sales, I took the lead in conceiving, designing, and delivering the company's first in-house native iPad and iOS field technician application, which is now utilized by over 1500 technicians in the field and continues to grow.

Customer-Facing Account Portal: I played a pivotal role in creating our first fully functional customer-facing account portal, serving over 1.3 million customers and enhancing their experience.

Revenue-Generating Feature: I pioneered the creation and delivery of the company's first revenue-generating feature for field technicians, from inception to successful implementation, which resulted in over $8 million in additional signed revenue within the first 6 months.

Team Growth: I actively contributed to the expansion of the mobile product team, helping it grow from just 2 members to a robust team of 17 and counting.

Interests

My friends and coworkers would all describe me as someone who “tinkers.” I'm THE DIY guy. I am a focused, project-oriented person. I’m constantly thinking about solutions to everyday problems around me. Because Design is in everything we interact with, I'm always asking myself questions like, “How could I make this easier to use?” or “What is it about this, that makes this experience so difficult or challenging for people?”

I feel that this way of thinking has made me, in every aspect, a better designer and has broadened my skillset. It's all about people and the way we live. And while I enjoy designing new experiences in sketch or figma like the rest of 'em, I also enjoy getting away from my desk and meeting my users first hand and hearing their stories. Human centered design thinking is where I find my joy.

Side Note: Rubiks cubes, wet shaving, wood working, leather working, raspberry pi projects, and gaming are just a few of the things that add to my quirky character.

The Swiss Get It.

I had the amazing opportunity to finish my BFA with a Design study in Switzerland. The one thing that stuck out to me the most in Switzerland was that Design is an important element in how we function in our day to day lives. It's absolutely essential in how we travel, work, and play. One of the most important things the Swiss have taught me is that Human-centered design thinking is the most important part of creating a successful user experience.

Consequently, my recipe is simple; Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test, then rinse and repeat.
